Brief Background: Ed Ishmael is the owner and closing attorney here at Midtown. Ed graduated with Honors at the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Education, before earning his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he also contributed to the Law Review.

After moving to Dallas, Ed honed his skills at Vial, Hamilton, Koch, and Knox in their fidelity and surety section. He then joined Baker & McKenzie—at the time, the world’s largest law firm—where he spent ten years specializing in international business litigation and insurance defense.

In 1998, he started a real estate title operation in Dallas that spread to Austin in 2006.

In 2009, Ed opened Ishmael Law Firm, P.C., and has transformed it into what it is today. Ed’s services mostly infill builders, developers, lenders and agents for whom he reviews and creates condominium regimes, drafts and reviews transaction documents and general legal matters.
