FAQ: What Can I Expect at Closing?
FAQ: What can I expect at closing?
Our team will reach out to set appointments for both the seller and buyer parties, buyer and seller parties sign separately.
Closings on average take an hour but can vary based on the complexity of the transaction.
Who is there?
- A closing agent, most often your escrow officer who also notarizes documents
- Your real estate agent, most of the time but not always
- If you are a buyer, your lender sometimes joins as well
Upon arrival, our receptionist will ask for your valid ID to make a photo copy. Once in closing, the closing agent will guide you through each document and answer any questions along the way while notarizing. Read “FAQ: What Qualifies as a Valid ID?”
It is important that you are familiar with all closing documents before you sign. We strive to circulate copies of your closing documents at least the day prior to closing for your review.
Once both parties have signed, we have both the buyer’s and lender’s funds, and lender approval, we can fund the file and record documents!
