Ed Ishmael is the owner attorney of Ishmael Law Firm, PC. Ed graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Education before earning his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.

After moving to Dallas, Ed worked for Vial, Hamilton, Koch, and Knox in their fidelity and surety section. He then joined the Dallas office of Baker & McKenzie—at the time, the world’s largest law firm—where he spent nearly ten years specializing in international business litigation and insurance defense.

In 1998, he co-founded a real estate title operation in Dallas that spread to Austin in 2006. Then in 2009, Ed opened Ishmael Law Firm, P.C., mostly servicing infill builders, developers, lenders and agents for whom he creates and reviews condominium regimes, drafts and reviews transaction documents, and handles general legal matters.

Ed is also the owner of Double Arrow Design LLC, an infill builder specializing in ground-up new construction of multi-unit infill developments.

Ed serves as the Chair of the City of Austin Downtown Commission, is on the Board of the Austin Infill Coalition and is the founder of Builders Care Austin—a non-profit through which infill builders and associated trades and vendors give back to the communities in which they build.
